The GLAAD Media Awards are next Saturday at the Kodak Theater — it’s a major event and all of the stars will be out. I am moving to Chicago soon and thus this could be my last chance to attend such a swanky LA function. But tickets are $450. Should I go?
For $450, they better have unlimited cosmopolitans!

No, I didn’t. And that’s the thing, I can’t afford it, but I’m looking at it from the perspective of the experience and not the finance — trying to reclaim that former abandon I used to have with regard to money.
If you put it into perspective, that’s $450 that could go towards at least 45 swanky Chicago functions. After all, there’s no swank like Chicago swank. You might even be able to meet that Schwimmer guy from Friends!
