what this recital is for
Over the past 11 years, I’ve lost my mentor and two of my students to suicide — one of whom was my very first, who took his life at the age of 13. Furthermore, I’ve reached a point in my life where I need to take a much more active role with regard to my health. So not only is this personal, it’s urgent. And I need your help.
On June 26th I will be taking part in the 20-mile Out of Darkness Overnight Walk, and on October 11th I will be running the Chicago Marathon — my very first in my life. All proceeds from this recital will benefit the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention and the AIDS Foundation of Chicago in order that both of these organizations may continue to further their work.
